Different Topics for One Company?

One great advantage of Discourse over Discord is the scope of topics that can be created and discussed.

This scope allows us to break down discussions about one company into multiple topics.

Here is an example of how this could look like:

Example Topics:
Spotify Newsstream (Similar to the current channel in Discord)
Spotify Investment Case (Discussion about the investment case)
Spotify Acceptable Scenarios (Acceptable scenarios within the investment case)
etc.

In this setup, we would have short commentary and discussions about company news still in the “Newsstream” topic, similarly to how we had it before, but break any more insightful longer discussions into separate topics.

Eventually, we might decide to break down the news stream topic even more in order to allow specific discussions on parts of the investment case. Those broken-down topics would be linked next to the detailed sub-articles in the Wiki.

Additional Topics:
Spotify Product Developments
Spotify Management
Spotify Competition
etc.

By using a “Spotify” tag we can make it easy for readers to find and read all related topics.

Do you have an opinion about this? I am especially interested in feedback from a user’s perspective.

It sounds good to me. This way there is not much mixing of topics in one discussion. Which is the case with Discord.

@Aron what is your take? Should we have dedicated “Company News” topics? e.g. “Meta News”?

yeah, that should be great as we won’t mix main topics with the news. Structurally, that will also make the main discussions look tidy and attractive to the community.
