EU Parliament adopts European Commission’s recommendation to allow automakers to average CO2 compliance over a three-year period
- EU Parliament voted to allow automakers to average their CO2 compliance in three years instead of meeting it in individual years (2025, 2026 and 2027).
- This means that the €600 million CO2 provision made by Volkswagen in Q1 2025 could be lower, as announced by the company during its Q1 2025 earnings call.
