S&P 500 futures falls 1.2% on concerns that Trump’s tax bill could pass the Senate
- S&P 500 futures falls 1.2% on concerns that President Trump’s “big, beautiful” tax bill which could increase U.S. national debt by $3.3 to $5.7 trillion over 10 years will pass the senate.
- The bill would reduce taxes by approximately $3.8 trillion over the same period, primarily by extending the expiring 2017 Trump tax cuts and introducing new deductions and credits.
- If enacted, the tax provisions would go into effect on January 1, 2026, coinciding with the expiration of key TCJA provisions.
