  • Meta is developing a new image and video-focused model called Mango and in early stages of developing world-models, Meta’s chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang said in an internal Q&A.
  • The models are expected to be released in the first half of 2026, alongside the Avocado model.
  • Wang said Avocado is getting better at coding.
  • Image and video generation has proven a vital front in the war among AI model companies- Meta departing video-generation Vibes in September, OpenAI departed video-generation Sora in October and Google introduced image-generation Nano Banana earlier this year.
  • OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently said image-generation is a primary point of interest for many users and it makes them keep coming back.
