U.S. and Iran approved a roadmap aimed at reaching a final deal within 60 days
“The Lake Lucerne Summit was conducted in a positive and constructive atmosphere. Encouraging progress has been made, including the creation of a mechanism for further technical talks,” according to a joint statement by mediating parties Qatar and Pakistan.
“Tireless Pakistani and Qatari mediation has delivered major progress to end Lebanon War. Oil and petrochem exports are waived, blockade lifted, some frozen assets released, and major reconstruction & development plan launched for Iran,” Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote in an X post.
This comes after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced Saturday that it was closing the Strait of Hormuz due to Israeli strikes in Lebanon.
